Kit Beukes is a comic artist and illustrator based in Cape Town.
They spent a number of formative years art directing and storyboarding comics and animation at Strika Entertainment, but are now freelance and loose in the city.
As a freelancer they have worked on a varied array of projects, ranging from Procedural Safety education for De Beers, to dragon comics and funny animal cartoons for Sunrise, and most recently costume design for the latest movie in the Resident Evil franchise.
They live for graphic narrative in all forms.
Kirby Kruger works in Cape Town's film industry. With experience in production, editing, scriptwriting and animating, she delights in creative solutions to challenges. Kirby graduated from CityVarsity with a diploma in Directing and editing and went on to work in production on some freelance local and international commercial jobs. She spent two years working as the video producer at Quirk, a digital marketing company, where her team won a silver Bookmark Award for their video series for Savanna's promotional Comic's Choice campaign, "Dead Funny." Her day job is currently at ZANEWS as the social media coordinator and designer, and occasional writer. It’s mostly about making really childish jokes on the Internet.
Merryn Carver works as a professional director, theatre designer and puppet-maker in Cape Town. Currently a puppeteer on the satirical South African puppet television show ZANEWS, Merryn’s notable theatre credits include being a creative collaborator and designer for Patchwork with Pillowfort Productions (Baxter, Bologna, Cape Town Fringe), and in 2012 Merryn directed and co-wrote A Tale of Horribleness, with The Space Behind the Couch, which enjoyed a successful run at the Grahamstown National Arts Festival. Performing credits include Hearts and Eyes’ award-winning Sadako, a Bunraku Puppetry production which traveled toFestival Mondial des Théâtres de Marionnettes in Charleville-Mézières, France
